I lived in Augusta, Ga. most of my life, born an Army brat at Ft. Leonard Wood in Missouri. I attended Augusta Technical College, with an Associate degree in Electronic Technology. I started a career in Substation Maintenance at Georgia Power in Augusta in 1976 (when IT didn’t have much IT stuff).  I transferred to Southern Company Services in the 80’s and worked at Plant Vogtle Unit 1&2 in Waynesboro, then to Nuclear Construction at Vogtle 3&4, and retired in 2017 after 41 years of service.  Kathryn and I then moved to Blue Ridge. We have 2 sons and 3 grandchildren. I started attending St. Luke’s in 2018. My hobbies include photography, Amateur Radio, and playing bass.

A long time ago, Lauren was born in Murray, KY, and lived a nomadic life until finishing her Master’s Degree in audiology and moving to SC to practice. In 1991 she moved to Griffin, GA .

After retirement, she and husband, Bob, started a nice vacation home in Blairsville. About halfway through the building, they decided God  wanted them full-time in the mountains, so they sold their house “down the mountain.”

Her religious up bringing was in various non-liturgical denominations, with her first exposure to the 1928 Prayer Book in her young childhood. She and Bob feel blessed to have found St. Luke’s, to be able to continue worshipping in that tradition, and to do so with such great people!

D.J. was born and raised in Central New York State. He gave 4 years to the U.S. Air Force and then graduated from the University of West Florida. That prepared him for his next 10 years in Atlanta with a major international CPA firm.

He started his own CPA firm in suburban Atlanta, which he ran for 25 years before selling the business to his son and partner. To keep his skills sharp, he still consults at the firm when needed. He also taught Accounting and Tax courses at Georgia University for the better part of a decade.

His volunteer work has been continuous since 1975 for churches, church-related organizations, associations of churches, and taught adult Sunday Schools.

D.J. was married to Pat for 51 years, but she passed away in 2019. He remains the proud father of four children and nine grandchildren.
